YOUR STORY IS UNIQUE — YOUR TREATMENT PLAN SHOULD BE TOO.
Your treatment plan is developed just for you, then evaluated daily to fit your unique healing path.
PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder) is a serious mental health disorder that may develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event.
Sabino Recovery is in a unique position to deliver exceptional care and treatment for those suffering from PTSD. Our safe nurturing environment and sophisticated clinical program provide the foundation upon which your recovery begins.
At Sabino Recovery we understand that the effects PTSD are profound and debilitating taking their toll on the mind as well as the body. We also know that PTSD is a difficult knot to untie. You and those who love you have probably been looking for answers for a long time.
You may be frustrated that as time goes by the symptoms don’t just go away. Those close to you may be confused as to why you can’t just let it go. If you could, you would, and that’s why PTSD requires professional treatment. Know that PTSD can happen to anyone. It is not a sign of weakness.
WHY IS SABINO RECOVERY RIGHT FOR YOU?
You did not choose to have PTSD, and you cannot choose not to have it. PTSD causes lasting changes in the areas of the brain responsible for regulating emotion, thought, and memory. When your brain is hijacked in this way, regaining control is difficult, no matter how long ago the traumatic event occurred.
Yet, your brain is resilient and so are you. The treatment program at Sabino Recovery is designed to take advantage of neuroplasticity – your brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections in order to adapt and adjust to new situations, experiences, and environments. Your resilience is a powerful force.

While each person experiences the symptoms of PTSD in their own way, symptoms are typically of three main types:
- Re-experiencing the trauma through intrusive distressing recollections of the event, flashbacks, and nightmares.
- Emotional numbness and avoidance of places, people, and activities that are reminders of the trauma.
- Increased arousal that causes insomnia, trouble concentrating, and increased irritation and anger.
Those with PTSD may also experience:
- Drug and alcohol abuse and addiction.
- Depression and anxiety.
- Feelings of hopelessness, shame, or despair.
- Physical symptoms or chronic pain.
- Employment problems.
- Relationship problems and intimacy issues.

When someone you care about suffers from PTSD, it affects the entire family. The symptoms of PTSD aren’t easy to live with, and the changes in your loved one can be downright terrifying.
At Sabino Recovery we employ the most trusted treatment modalities, as well as the most recent research to develop the Sabino Model which treats both the symptoms that often travel with PTSD; guilt, shame, substance abuse, depression and relationship troubles as well as the core trauma that is causing the symptoms. We create an environment of trust which allows the hard work of addressing the principal trauma.
