Kim Anderson Greenwood, MS, PMHNP
Prior to my career as a nurse practitioner, I worked 20 years as a chemical engineering manager where for the last several years I was engaged in designing medical devices for diabetes and dialysis. Though my primary role was in designing equipment, I also had direct contact with patients. I have always enjoyed working with people and hearing them tell their stories and giving emotional support.
I decided to return to college to complete a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and am currently completing a doctoral degree in psychology and training in Somatic Experience Therapy. In my 20 years as a nurse practitioner treating clients suffering from trauma, my approach to treatment as always been Mind, Body, Spirit. I have specialized in trauma partially due to my own history and witnessing the positive results of appropriate treatment. Medication management is important when indicated but it has to be combined with integrative therapies to heal trauma and to return to feelings of wholeness, vitality and empowerment.
